In the main station building the ticket office, ancillary accommodation and booking hall was demolished, the ATM was relocated, new roller shutters were installed and a temporary ticket office including power supplies was installed. Station Signage was replaced, with lighting installed, CIS and CCTV installed, along with all communications. A BWIC with new lift was installed and a new ticket barrier.

On the platform the footpath, gateline base, bench seats, a glazed screen and solid canopy & valance including structural steelwork were replaced. The door opening was reformed and remedial works to the roof completed, with floors, windows and new external doors replaced under a new suspended ceiling.

The station forecourt works included the refurbishment and expansion of cycle storage accommodation and the renewal and installation of additional platform seating. The platform toilets were also refurbished.
