NSIP Programme - National Express East AngliaServices Provided: Project Management, Cost Consultancy Business Sector: Transport and Infrastructure Project Cost: £2.25 million Project Length: 6 months In the main station building we removed the retail unit and station canopy and then relocated the ticket office. A new structure creating a ticket hall, with a canopy extending over the forecourt and provision for a DDA lift was made within the envelope of the new booking office. The ATM was relocated. The station forecourt was configured such that the taxi’s are directed to queue east to west along the station frontage with the pick up point and taxi rank clearly demarcated and a DDA compliant pedestrian walkway along the station frontage. A layout for the station forecourt was configured to provide clarity of circulation for buses, taxis, premium car park access and private vehicle drop-off. The waiting structure was removed and replaced with an alternative glass/Perspex waiting structure larger than the existing and closer to the end of the upside canopy at the London end of the platform. A 2.5m high fence was provided to the back edge of the platform. |
